I was lucky enough to photograph a Chinese wedding in the heart of London recently which was hugely enjoyable as I absolutely love experiencing and capturing the rich tapestry of other cultures.
The theme for the day was the colour red in keeping with tradition – and this gave the entire wedding a vibrant and colourful look. One of my favourite parts of the whole day was photographing the bride and groom eating noodles (which symbolise longevity) that had been prepared by their families. It was such a fun and touching tradition that added to the warmth of the day. Obviously the gorgeous bride had to be very careful not to drop any noodles on her wedding dress!
After getting some lovely photographs of the happy couple at Chelsea Town Hall we moved on to the reception which took place at the stunning Kensington Roof Gardens. What a perfect venue for a small intimate wedding! Standing there in the peaceful Moroccan inspired gardens, it’s hard to believe we were metres away from the hustle and bustle of London’s busy streets.
Another wonderful wedding of two lovely people – I’m hoping I get to photograph more Chinese weddings in 2014!
